the best way to live a better life.

All of us are born with incredible power. The power of decision. here are the tips on the best way to live a better life.

Growing up our choices are mainly judged by our parents and when we behave in a way that isn’t accepted by them… we are disciplined. In school, when we don’t behave how we are “supposed” too… again we are disciplined.

For the first eighteen years of our life, we become defined as a person not from our own decisions but by how society expects us to behave. We are taught certain beliefs and behaviors & many of them are only opinions.

But we accept these beliefs and behaviors as the true way of living because this is how we are taught to live by our role models which include parents, family members, teachers, and religious figures. Why go against them right?

It’s important to understand that the people who taught us what to believe and how to behave, taught us only what they were taught by their role models.

In the book “The Voice Of Knowledge” by Don Miguel Ruiz he mentions that we are all born into the dream of the world. This means that the dream of the world is agreed upon and an expected way of thinking and behaving.

The dream must be transformed because it’s not our true nature or reality. We experience true reality when we are living truthfully and authentically. This requires taking conscious control of how you think, what you believe in, and how you behave.

Most of us are simply existing, not living. We begin to experience the motions of life because we aren’t in alignment with our true nature. I believe our truest nature is to love, explore, experience and grow.

When we get stuck in a routine of doing the same stuff and thinking the same thoughts everyday… we experience the motions of life. It feels as if life is just passing you by because it really is.

Every second that you aren’t doing what you love or going after what you desire is time that you can never get back.

Here are three methods to help you start living in your truth:

1)Start Making Decisions For Your Life

The most important question to ask yourself is: What do I want from life?

In order to start taking charge of your destiny, you’ll need to gain clarity about the life you want to experience. If you don’t have any goals for yourself, how do you know where you’re going?

What kind of health do you want? What type of career do you want to have? How much money do you want to make? What type of partner do you want to have? What does your dream life look like? What experiences do you want to have?

You must answer these questions with your heart. Don’t answer your questions based off of how “society” will view you but from the truest part of your soul.

Write the questions down and answer them in full detail. Don’t hold back. Be as descriptive as possible because your description of the life you want to experience will not only motivate you but inspire you to take actions towards it.

Through this exercise, you’ll realize that much of what you thought you wanted in life is only what society would want from you. Most of us are constantly living to impress others. The only person we should try to impress is ourselves.

This means we go after things that we think society will be impressed by. The real question you should be asking is what goals and desires will you be impressed by achieving?

What would you regret not doing or experiencing if today was your last day to live?

Once you make these fundamental decisions, you need to start executing on your goals. You’ll need to adopt habits and strategies that can help you reach your destination. But first, decide what you want.

2)Surround Yourself With Positive People

One of the most common concepts that are taught in the self-help space is that we become an average of the five people we spend the most time with. I’ve learned from experience that who you surround yourself with most really matters.

The reason this concept is so powerful is that the people we spend the most time with have the strongest influence on how we think, act, and behave.

If our inner circle is lazy and undisciplined, then we will struggle with discipline and productivity.

This occurs on a subconscious level. If the people we hang around lack ambition to grow and aren’t goal-oriented, then they’ll try to make you feel bad for not hanging out with them even if what you’re doing is helping you evolve.

For example, let’s say you want to get healthy but your inner circle doesn’t care about getting healthy even after you try to get them on board.

You won’t push yourself as hard and you won’t be as committed to your health because if you slack off you won’t have people around you that encourage you to keep going. This is crucial because we all need support at some point.

If none of your inner circle values their health, you’ll find it hard to value. On the other hand, if even one person from your inner circle agrees to improve their health with you… you’ll find it easier to commit to a healthier lifestyle.

Your inner circle must be driven, encouraging, and inspiring. When you’re not surrounded by driven people, it interferes with your personal drive. We must surround ourselves with people that have qualities that we desire to have.

Not all of our friends and family will desire to grow and evolve with you. You’ll need to spend less time with them and more time with people that desire to evolve into the best version of themselves.

3)Embrace Adversity

If you’re human, you’ll experience adversity in your life at some point if you haven’t already. Adversity is obstacles and challenges that we weren’t prepared for which makes life difficult.

Everyone on planet earth experiences adversity. The difficulties you experience could be entirely different from a hardship someone else is going through. This is where the “it could always be worse” concept must of came from.

This is why perspective is so powerful. Someone could agree that not knowing if you’ll eat dinner tonight vs. spilling coffee on your shirt is much more difficult situation. Living pay check to pay check is easier than being homeless.

I’m not saying that the challenges you face on a day to day basis aren’t significant but truthfully it can always be worse. I believe embracing adversity is a super power because it’s how you gain inner peace and personal freedom.

The best part about life is that we can grow through and overcome any challenge that arises on our path. If there are people who survived the Holocaust, then I promise that you can survive anything life throws at you.

No matter what you go through, you can grow through it. My mom passed away from battling cancer six years ago and it was the hardest test I’ve been through.

I didn’t know how I was going to move on…

I had to put into perspective that my mom wouldn’t want me to live my life in constant anger and sadness about what happened. I had to accept what I had no control over and decided to use my experience to inspire others to never give up.

If you don’t know how to put things into a higher perspective then the next time you face a hardship you’ll need to remember that it can always be worse and ask yourself: How can I grow from here? What can I learn from this?

If you’re holding onto things from the past that you can’t change or had no control over then you’ll have to accept it for what it is. This will give you power over your past and the opportunity to focus your attention on a greater future.

We can’t create an incredible future for ourselves if our energy is constantly focused on what happened in our past.

Accept it for what it is even if it’s your fault or not. All that matters is that you grow from that event and learn from your mistakes if any were made. We must decide to accept so that we may move forward.

Holding onto grudges and resentment only effects the person that’s holding onto it. Forgive yourself and forgive others because that’s how cleanse your heart. I know it can be difficult but the freedom from your past will be worth it.
